Pip Pack Member - Kraten

Please share a story that comes to mind that portrays your personal experience and journey with diabetes (age of diagnosis, playing on a sports team, managing lows while traveling, etc.)
The only time this kid has slowed down was when he was in DKA at diagnosis, he was 3 years old. Newly diagnosed & quickly recovered he hasn’t let any of it slow him down since. He’s 5 now & just started kindergarten! He loves to show off his cool gadgets (insulin pump & cgm) show people he can do his own finger pokes & when kids ask about it he proudly says I’m a type 1 diabetic!

How has Pip contributed to your diabetes journey and what makes you excited about joining the Pip Pack?

We misplace our lancing device quite often, so having pip as a back up has been amazing. We have them everywhere house, diabetes supply bag, car! There are weeks where Kraten only wants to use Pips!

What have you learned from your experiences with diabetes?

That I need to be dosed for food and to do my own finger pokes -Kraten
